1890 Richmond, Virginia - Unveiling of the Robert E. Lee Monument, White Metal, thick, 2.5" in diameter.  Included with this metal is a piece of the unveiling rope, used to hold the veil in place.  This is the way I received this medal quite a few years ago.  I can't prove the rope theory, as stated in it's holder.  The medal is quite uncommon, as I have never seen another of these for sale, and my internet research also went dry.  Any info on this medal is appreciated!  It may be worth well more than my sale price.
